1) Scalability

Quickbooks is a great choice for small businesses, but it can be easily outgrown. As an organizations transactions and customers increase, the Quickbooks platform slows down because the database has limited scalability. SAP Business One runs on the Microsoft SQL Server which is highly scalable. Software performance is not compromised by data growth and it has the potential for hundreds of users to be logged in and working simultaneously.

2) Advanced Features

Quickbooks is a basic accounting package with limited modules and features. SAP Business One is industry leading ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) package with robust built-in modules and features that mean businesses will not be able to easily outgrow this software.

3) Inventory

Many growing companies find inventory to be the most limiting part of Quickbooks, which handles basic tracking and average costs only. One of SAP Business One’s greatest strengths is inventory management. SAP Business One’s hugely flexible inventory management module is a substantial reason people choose it over Quickbooks.

4) Reporting

Quickbooks Enterprise package has a custom reporting tool but it’s limited and difficult to use for the average user. SAP Business One comes built-in with Crystal Reports, the industry leader in reporting. The Crystal Report wizard makes generating custom reports, charts, or dashboards easy.

5) Built-in CRM

Quickbooks offers a separate add-on solution for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) but it’s not integrated and has no drill-down capability. In SAP Business One, robust CRM is integrated into the entire system.

6) Role Based User Options

In Quickbooks every user will see the same screens and have access to the same information regardless of their role at the company. In SAP Business One, you can customize the workflow and access for each employee based on their login. This capability helps everyone work more efficiently and provides security for sensitive company information.

7) Audit Compliance

Quickbooks is not GAAP compliant, which means you can change the numbers any way you want without an audit trail. It leaves the business vulnerable to fraud. SAP Business One is GAAP compliant. The benefits of that include lower interest rates with banks and better credit lines with vendors.

8) Microsoft Integration

SAP Business One has Microsoft Office integration which allows you to have a connection between SAP and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. You have the ability synchronize calendars, contacts and tasks. You can display, edit, and send quotations as e-mails. Quickbooks offers a synchronization tool but doesn’t integrate with Outlook in real-time.

9) Account Number Segmentation

Segmentation is useful for summary reporting and for organizing your general ledger to look like your organization and is expected by most CPA’s. Quickbooks offers no account number segmentation, while SAP Business One account numbers can have up to 10 segments.
